Financial or Data Analyst - Pension Risk Transfer (Updated Location)

What You'll Do

We’re looking for a Financial or Data Analyst to join our Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) team. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to impact our business in a meaningful way having a hand in all aspects for Pension Risk Transfer.

• Coding pricing model enhancements, and supporting Individual Case pricing initiatives
• Developing data and analytics work related to assumptions.
• Collaborating with multiple business partners, and communicating financial results to senior leadership and key partners across the Principal enterprise.
• Assist in various product initiatives and enhancements.

Who You Are

• Bachelor's degree in math, actuarial science, finance, analytics or related field.
• 4 years of relevant experience, pricing or coding experience preferred.
• · A strong foundation in understanding actuarial concepts including life contingencies and interest theory.
• Skill in R programming language (or similar – i.e. Python – with the ability to quickly learn R).
• Self motivated with excellent problem solving, leadership, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills required.
• Demonstrates the ability to embrace and understand the change process, and effectively guides others through change.
• Knowledge of Excel and VBA required.

Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

• Knowledge of Defined Benefit plans/valuation or PRT pricing (or similar products) strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of SQL/Relational Databases and SAS programming preferred.
• Experience with AWS is a plus.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$86450 - $144400 / year
Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Work Environments

This role offers in-office, and hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek) work arrangements from our Des Moines, IA headquarter office. You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
