Who You Are:
As a Senior Brand and Media Strategist, you will help lead Principal Financial Group’s social media strategy across various platforms. This collaborative role is pivotal in creating a scroll-stopping, brand-building social media presence that resonates with our key audiences.
What you'll do:
- Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies across LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. Additional platforms may be tested.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on social media strategy implementation, channel roles, and social content creation.
- Collaborate with Brand professionals, business unit subject matter experts (SMEs), PR professionals, Marketers, and others to plan, produce, and manage comprehensive social brand and product campaigns.
- Lead creative decisions and inspiration, helping direct writers, designers, and project managers on social best practices.
- Engage key audiences with social-first content delivered on social platforms.
- Provide advice on social media standard processes and build impactful social media campaigns that boost the company's brand.
- Develop and uphold a social media center of excellence, incorporating standard methodologies and providing training for other departments.
- Manage paid post performance per quarter, ensuring timely, budget-conscious execution.
- Develop and manage social content calendars, production timelines, creative, and budgets with input from vendors and internal collaborators.
- Innovate with new and alternative ways to stand out on social media to achieve marketing objectives.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 6 years of related experience leading social media strategy and initiatives
- Direct experience managing social media for an organization.
- Proven ability to develop and present data-driven strategies.
- Advanced proficiency in Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Adaptable, flexible, and able to handle changing priorities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong project management experience.
- Ability to explain complex social media data in an understandable way and turn them into actionable recommendations.
- Enthusiastic about networking and relationship building across fields.
- Enthusiastic and upbeat; demonstrates strong motivation and works independently.
