The Principal Financial Group is seeking a Senior Investment & Product Solution Analyst Team Lead!
This individual will manage a team responsible for delivering sales engineering services to prospects, existing clients, and their advisors, as well as supporting the sales/service force and other business units.
- Advise and supervise the execution of sophisticated business projects passionate about pricing, new product/service development, and investment opportunities. Make strategic decisions on project scope, resources, timelines, and risks, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with legal and compliance standards. Present well-researched recommendations to senior management.
- Guide the team in delivering effective sales engineering services to sophisticated clients, assisting with product and service negotiations, and ensuring profitable and feasible plan designs. Provide expertise in resolving ambitious situations and give to market competitiveness by analyzing relevant data.
- Supply to staffing decisions, succession planning, and staff development. Ensure strategic focus and facilitate effective decision-making processes.
- Build and manage relationships with key business partners, including Segments, RIS Distribution, Finance, and others, ensuring alignment with company philosophies on retirement and pricing.
- Develop and lead informative workshops on retirement topics, including new products, services, investments, and market trends, for both internal teams and external clients.
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, plus 10 years related work experience. Knowledge of retirement products required, including plan design and investment knowledge
- Must have advanced planning/interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, management, presentation, listening, and written and oral communication skills
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills required, along with excellent time management and decision-making skills
- Formal leadership preferred
- Must have big picture thinking and be results oriented
- Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy while being detail oriented
- Maintain confidentiality is crucial
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$95200 - $182400 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to determine which option may align best based on several factors.
