The ideal candidate has experience in wave soldering, selective soldering, conformal coating, and IPC standards for PCB assembly.
Key Responsibilities:
Select Soldering Operations
- Set up and operate selective soldering equipment – Program and run machines to solder through-hole components onto PCBAs.
- Monitor soldering process – Ensure proper flux application, solder wave height, and thermal profiles to prevent defects such as bridging, cold solder joints, or insufficient solder.
- Perform inspections – Conduct visual and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) of soldered joints to ensure compliance with IPC-A-610 standards.
- Rework and repair – Identify and correct solder defects using hand soldering techniques when necessary.
Conformal Coating Operations
- Prepare and apply conformal coating – Use automated and manual spray or dip-coating techniques to apply protective coatings to PCBAs.
- Ensure proper masking and curing – Mask connectors and other critical areas before coating and monitor curing times and conditions.
- Inspect coated assemblies – Check for defects such as bubbles, missed areas, or over-application and perform necessary touch-ups.
General Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance – Clean and maintain soldering and conformal coating equipment to ensure consistent performance.
- Follow work instructions and safety protocols – Adhere to company procedures, electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions, and IPC standards.
- Document and report results – Maintain process logs, record defects, and communicate issues with engineering and quality teams.
- Collaborate with team members – Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve processes and resolve issues.
- Physical Activity & Movement – Regularly move between workstations, lift materials, and stand for extended periods.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in electronics manufacturing is a plus.
- 1-3 years of experience in selective soldering, wave soldering, or conformal coating processes.
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and IPC-7711/7721 standards for PCB assembly and rework.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, schematics, and production documentation.
- Experience with operating and troubleshooting soldering and coating equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with small components.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and stand, bend, or walk for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:

- Knowledge of different types of conformal coatings (acrylic, silicone, urethane) and their applications.
- Understanding of ESD and cleanroom procedures.
Work Environment:
- Hands-on electronics manufacturing environment.
- Frequent standing, bending, and lifting of materials up to 20 lbs.
- Exposure to soldering fumes, chemicals, and ESD-controlled areas (protective equipment provided).
Why Join Us?
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- Opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing electronics manufacturing environment.
- Career development, training, and advancement opportunities.
If you have experience in selective soldering, conformal coating, and quality-focused PCB assembly, we encourage you to apply today!
