Due to recent international expansion, we seek to add the talents of a Operations Director to one of the industry’s largest image processing facilities in the industry based in Lake Mary, Florida.


Job Description

JOB SUMMARY


• Provide leadership to Operations to drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity and costs. 

• Ensuring jobs manufactured correctly, cost effectively and delivered on time in accordance to customer specification and quality requirements.

a. Communicating with all the relevant people/depts. and coordinating all relevant inputs (people and processes) to ensure production output and on-time delivery targets are achieved.

b. Planning, scheduling and reviewing workload to ensure production output and on time delivery targets are achieved cost effectively.

c. Ensuring that the shop floor has the necessary manpower, competence, skills, knowledge, tooling required in order to achieve production targets. 

• Managing the Inventory function/stock control dept. to ensure raw material and product is receipted, located, stored and transferred correctly and that the company’s stock inventory is accurate.

• Managing the Purchasing function/dept. to ensure material is purchased cost effectively and available for production when required.


MAIN DUTIES


1. PRODUCTION


• Capacity Planning

a. Ensure production depts. Have sufficient time to manufacture and deliver on-time according to the customer’s request.

• Planning & Scheduling of Workload

a. Manage customer order/schedule requirements.

b. Pre-plan production and deploy a daily prioritized work schedule to the shop floor with appropriate time deadline targets.

c. Set, monitor & review work load schedule.

• Production Control

a. Monitor & review production progress against deadline targets to endure on-time delivery.

b. Adjust the production schedule as required and communicate any change to delivery date with the customer service dept. accordingly.

c. Monitor & review manufacturing operations to ensure correct quality standards, 

d. Ensure that all production related activity is time and cost efficient/effective.

e. Ensure all shop/equipment is maintained & repaired. 

• Quality Control

a. Ensure production/quality processes, equipment being used and the working environments are all conducive to producing a high quality specifications. 

b. Monitor production activity to ensure that the appropriate manufacturing methods are employed and that sufficient due care is taken in order to meet the customer’s quality and specifications.

c. Ensure rejected product/non-conformance is rectified as high priority and that customers are kept informed accordingly.

d. Ensure the correct non-conformance paperwork is raised and processed with every reject.


2. INVENTORY MANAGEMENT


a. Organizing, planning and coordinating all inventory management activities.

b. Ensure that both goods inward and distribution depts. are well organized and adequately resourced to sufficiently support production and the goals of the business.

c. Ensure incoming product is processed and managed appropriately according to company procedures.

d. Ensure materials are ready and available for production as and when required.

e. Ensure that any materials that are late or holding up production for whatever reason are chased and followed up until received.

f. Ensure sub-contract processes are received back and that suppliers are chased if late.

g. Ensure that finished product is well packaged, labelled and delivered according to the agreed delivery date.

h. Ensure materials are ready and available for production as and when required. 


3. CUSTOMER SERVICE


a. Maintain proactive, dynamic and effective communication with customers at all times.

b. Offer flexible and helpful customer service to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business.


4. OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE


a. Achieve the company’s on-time delivery target of 95%

b. Control all associated operational and manufacturing costs according to the prevailing annual budget forecast.

c. Ensure non-value added activity is reduced in all manufacturing processes by using lean manufacturing tools & techniques. (i.e. Six Sigma, Lean Mfg., etc.)

d. Manage change to meet current nosiness requirements.

e. Implement manufacturing improvement processes and systems to reduce inventory, increase throughout and minimize costs.

f. Promoting and upholding company performance standards and ideology (on-time delivery, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, housekeeping & work ethic).

g. Operational Excellence

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED


• Bachelor’s degree, required.

• Lean Six Sigma / Six Sigma Green Belt / Six Sigma Black Belt / Supply Chain Mgmt. Certifications is preferred.

• 5 years’ experience managing a med size manufacturing facility.

• Previous experience in E-Commerce, Printing / Press, Manufacturing industries is a plus.

• Strong working knowledge in operations and workflow management.

• Strong managerial experience in a dynamic fast-paced work environment.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills

• Successful track record of safety and regulatory compliance.

• Must have work schedule flexibility for various times throughout the year.

• Possess skills and traits that solicit employee relationships and promote a “team environment”. (Lead not “manage”)

• Communicate simply, clearly and often to all levels, be firm, fair and consistent with employees.

• Must possess the ability to overcome resistance to organizational change, influence others, and lead change initiatives.
