Qualifications
- Qualifications include one of the following: Associates Degree or higher; 60 college semester credits; "Highly qualified" status through completion of ParaEducator or ParaPro exam.
- Candidates without one of these qualifications will need to pass the ParaEducator exam within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (50 lbs).
- Ability to work with students with mild to severe disabilities.
- Must employ interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Performance Responsibilities
- Support and monitor students in educational settings.
- Provide teacher support; objective observation, data keeping, and prepare and organize materials.
- Assist in implementing successful student programs as designed by special education staff.
- Assists with personal care needs of individual students, as needed.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to diversity in cultural heritage, lifestyles, and value systems among students and families.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the building principal and/or supervising teacher, specific to special education.
Salary : $19 - $23
