Education/Certification:
· Master's Degree (required)
· Valid Texas Teaching Certificate (required)
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of classroom experience with demonstrated exemplary student results
- Previous coaching, or teacher leadership experience
- Deep knowledge of and experience in
o Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)
o Instructional Strategies
o Lesson Cycle
o Data-Driven instruction
Skill Requirements:
- Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for building an environment with a common instructional focus, promoting initiatives, and conveying expectations
- Ability to design and deliver quality professional development for administrators and teachers
- Outstanding presentation and facilitation skills
- Demonstrate ability to communicate in a professional manner both orally and in writing
- Demonstrated strength in organization, communication skills and efficiency in meeting deadlines
- Candidate must be familiar with Google and Microsoft products (Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, OneDrive, Word, Excel)
- Demonstrate interest and engagement in professional learning and reflection
Essential Functions:
- Support the vision of Priority Charter Schools
- Facilitate Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) with an emphasis on supporting the implementation of High-Quality Instructional materials (HQIM) through the Internalization Process
- Provide classroom-based coaching to support teachers in implementing good instructional practices
Performance Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate willingness to assume leadership positions
- Perform duties assigned by the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and/or campus principals
- Provide organized, individual and/pr group learning opportunities for teachers as needed
- Provide support in analyzing student assessment data
- Assist teachers with instructional decisions based on assessment data
- Provide support for classroom motivation and management strategies
- Provide teachers support in locating resources within their HQIM as well as other resources as outlined by the Priority Charter Schools Instructional Handbook
- Aid in researching instructional and/or curriculum resources
- Model effective, differentiated instruction when needed
- Encourage ongoing professional growth for all teachers
- Manage time and schedule flexibility to maximize teacher schedules and learning
- Work positively toward meeting identified district and campus improvement goals
- Develop and maintain a confidential, collegial relationship with teachers
- Possess an understanding of when to contact administrators regarding issues of safety/ethics
- Assist teachers in aligning their teaching with appropriate standards, curriculum and assessments
Physical Effort and Work Environment:
- Travel to and support teachers on all three Priority Charter School Campuses; PCS - Copperas Cove, PCS - Killeen, and PCS - Temple
- Regular attendance is required for this position
Personal Work Relationships:
- Candidate receives administrative supervision and is evaluated formally one timer per year
- It is expected that less experienced candidates will receive additional guidance on instructional matters
- Candidate will work closely with the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction to create district curricular supports such as pacing guides, PLC protocols, data protocols
