Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care, particularly with geriatrics and children, and possess a strong understanding of home community care. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Monitor and document changes in clients’ health status and report any concerns to healthcare professionals.
- Utilize basic life support techniques when necessary to ensure client safety.
- Help clients with mobility needs, including lifting and transferring as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by managing household tasks such as laundry and light housekeeping.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in a Level II Trauma Center setting to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Utilize durable medical equipment (DME) effectively to assist clients in their daily routines.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in patient care, particularly with geriatrics or children, is preferred.
- Knowledge of home community care practices and hospital medicine is advantageous.
- Ability to perform basic life support and respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Familiarity with various systems used in patient care management is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Physical capability to lift clients safely and assist them with mobility needs.
