Responsibilities:
Reimbursement specialists are responsible for communicating and working with insurance companies and medical billing staff to manage billing and various reimbursements. This position requires an advanced understanding of records, coding, and billing practices to ensure compliance and patient confidentiality. This position requires strong attention to detail and familiarity with clerical and office processes, as well as medical and insurance terminology.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications
- Must have, as a minimum, three (3) years’ experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related health care facility.
- Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
- Must have a working knowledge of managed care rules, regulations, and guidelines.
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN or LPN/LVN in this state.
- Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to managed care and nursing care facilities.
- Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
- Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.
