This is a full time ambulance billing position with a dynamic, growing, medical billing company. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our land ambulance billing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and payer coordination. This role is crucial in facilitating the financial operations of our EMS agency clients and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Process patient billing information accurately and efficiently.
- Review and verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility.
- Utilize medical coding systems including ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG for accurate billing.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies, ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the medical collection process.
- Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical billing and coding within a medical office setting.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, including familiarity with ICD-10 and HCPCS coding system for ambulance.
- Strong understanding of medical collection processes and insurance verification.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software.

Summary: Candidates must be experienced medical billers, able to pass a pre-employment drug test and a background check. Candidates should live within 75 miles of Beckley, West Virginia. We do require our employees to comply with both West Virginia and federal controlled substances laws.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.50 per hour
