Summary
As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will be essential in ensuring product quality and compliance with industry standards. Reporting to the Quality Manager, your expertise in quality management systems will be vital in maintaining compliance with UN and GFSI standards. Additionally, your proficiency with precision measuring instruments and analysis skills will support continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring the highest quality products are delivered to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Perform incoming quality assurance inspection of raw materials, cartons, caps, colorant, resin, etc.
- Maintain all product history files.
- Create C of C and C of A, as needed.
- Create all production labels and verify their accuracy.
- Create and print shop packets and packaging instructions for all orders.
- Create and maintain all sample boards/sample totes.
- Assist in sorting/reworking all products placed on hold as requested by the Quality Manager.
- Shall be a part of the GFSI team at their respective plant and trained with a minimum of the SQF standard, HACCP, and internal auditor.
- Shall report any Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) or Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) concerns to the appropriate personnel with authority to correct the issues found.
- Must be proficient in Quality Assurance Inspector responsibilities.
- Perform calibrations of quality assurance equipment as needed.
- Assist with facilitation of plant Root Cause Corrective Action and Continuous Improvement projects as needed.
- Responsible for learning the data collection system and system maintenance.
- Perform NIQP/NEQP as needed.
- Assist Quality Manager/Leader in plant internal audits and management review responsibilities.
- Assist Quality Manager/Leader with quality system reviews, revisions, updates, and training.
- Assist in specialty requirements such as but not limited to UN Testing and training as directed by the Quality Manager.
- Inventory administration as related to the quality assurance process; place product on/off hold.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED education required. Vocational training or Associate’s degree preferred.
- 2 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving, and decision-making skills required.
- Must be well-organized, self-motivated, and have strong communication skills.
- Must have strong mathematical/units of measurement skills.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to drive powered industrial truck preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
