What are the responsibilities and job description for the Content & Communications Strategist position at Priority Sports & Entertainment?
Priority Sports & Entertainment, a full-service Sports Management and Marketing firm is currently seeking a Content & Communications Strategist to join their team and contribute to all areas of media, strategic vision creation, and branding initiatives for their NFL, NBA, NIL and Coaching clientele.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Communications, Marketing, or Journalism
- 3 years work experience in the content and digital marketing industry (sports background preferred)
- A substantial network of contacts
- A strong level of expertise in all aspects of social media
- Graphic design and video editing experience (Adobe Suite, Canva, CapCut, etc.)
- Ability and strong interest in keeping up with trends in sports media, social media, and culture
- Professional and effective interpersonal communication and written skills
- Willingness to take ownership of duties and follow through on all assignments
- A team player who thrives in a collaborative, team environment
- Experience using a camera to capture content a plus
- Flexibility to work extra hours during the work week and some weekends, if needed
- In house, Chicago-based position (no exceptions)
Responsibilities:
Media Relations
- Work closely with the marketing department to create and implement client-centric PR/exposure initiatives and campaigns. Will be expected to manage this entire process from beginning (an idea) to end (execution of idea, coverage from media outlets, etc.)
- Grow relationships with all social media contacts (Meta, X, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat) and international, national, and local media outlets within the sports industry and beyond
- Write compelling pitches, press releases and bios to help garner more exposure for our NFL, NBA and NIL athletes, Coaches and Influencers
- Look for opportunities to bring more exposure to the Priority Sports brand as a reputable leader in the sports representation and marketing world
- Facilitate interview requests from radio stations, websites, magazines, podcasts, etc.
- Aid clients in media promotion around community events, camps, etc.
- Actively look for opportunities to generate revenue for our clients in the media space
Content Strategy and Digital
- Manage and create original and unique content for all of the agency’s social media platforms and website
- Monitor all individual clients’ social media accounts
- Craft and manage pointed clients’ content calendars
- Educate new clients on how to increase followers
- Work directly with clients on all social media initiatives, providing trouble-shooting, guidance and education (help raise followers, hacking issues, troubleshooting, etc.)
- Service marketing department in social media related deals (branded posts, collecting analytics, caption creation etc.)
- Collect and analyze social performance metrics
General
- Maintain, update and edit recruiting materials prepared in InDesign and Photoshop
- Collaborate in branding strategies for Priority Sports and our clients
Salary : $50,000 - $75,000
