Job Purpose
We are seeking a driven, detail-oriented Payroll Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering payroll functions for 1,000 non-exempt and 150 exempt employees, and growing. This is a great opportunity for someone who is eager to take ownership of all facets of payroll, with a focus on internalizing the process to the greatest extent possible.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Build in-house payroll processing procedures, leveraging technology and expertise
Build and lead Team of Payroll professionals
Calculate and enter payroll data, including wages, bonuses, deductions, and taxes
Ensure compliance with payroll laws, regulations, and company policies across 3 states
Ensure accurate and timely submission of weekly payroll transactions
Generate payroll reports and distribute paychecks or direct deposits
Maintain accurate payroll records and files
Collaborate with HR and finance teams
Identify and implement process improvements
The successful candidate profile includes:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
Extensive experience in payroll management, preferably with high volume transactions
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Experience with calculating and administering payroll in-house; including paying employees across multiple states, setting up local and state taxes, and enforcing withholding orders
In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements
