Job Summary
Ensures that all Prisma Health ambulatory pharmacy permitted areas assigned meet SC Board of Pharmacy and DHEC regulations. Conducts the SC Board of Pharmacy required monthly inspections of all assigned permitted areas and physician offices. Prepares necessary reports and documentation pursuant to unit inspections. Keeps pharmacy leadership informed on all regulatory and compliance issues and problems.Essential Functions

Completes required monthly inspections for assigned drug outlets and other assigned physician offices. Reports unsatisfactory or deficient areas to pharmacy leadership on a monthly basis. Also reports deficiencies to the respective facility Medical Director, Business Manager and/or Administrator on a regular basis as requested.
Assists with the development, approval and distribution of medication use policies and procedures for use in ambulatory medical practices, clinics and drug outlet permits.
Responsible as Consultant Pharmacist for all assigned Board of Pharmacy Drug Outlet Permits. Assists the pharmacy leadership and appropriate administrators for Prisma Health pharmacies with permit renewal and compliance as needed.
Addresses and responds to in-service needs within areas of responsibility and assists the practices, clinics and drug outlet permitted areas with required documentation.
Removes out of date medications from areas for proper disposal.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibility
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Education - Bachelor's degree from an ACPE approved College of Pharmacy. PharmD preferred
Experience - Two (2) years State Board of Pharmacy knowledge and/or experience
In Lieu Of
In lieu of an active SC Pharmacist license, may be a graduate of an ACPE accredited US college of Pharmacy with a SC intern certificate pending initial licensure or have completed requirements for reciprocity pending board of pharmacy interview for licensure.
Team members employed in this job prior to July 1, 2020, are grandfathered under prior educational and experience requirements. In addition, team members must be certification eligible and will have one year to obtain required certification.
Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
Licensure to practice as a pharmacist within three (3) months of hire date.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods.
Ability to work cooperatively with Prisma Health and Pharmacy staff members.
Ability to handle frequent interruptions, adapt to changes in workload and schedule.
Ability to set priorities and solve problems.
Ability to respond quickly to emergency requests.
