Role Overview:
The Nurse-Resident is an entry-level position for Registered Nurses who have completed their education and are seeking to gain experience in a clinical setting. As a Nurse-Resident, you will work under the guidance of experienced clinicians and participate in professional development workshops to refine your nursing knowledge and skills.
You will be responsible for attending quality and core curriculum classes, managing clinical situations, and developing a plan of care based on the nursing process. You will work closely with the Clinical Education Team to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
To be successful in this role, you must be able to collect patient data, complete required forms, identify patient problems/needs, and set priorities. You will also be expected to demonstrate understanding of age-related characteristics and needs of patients served, explain nursing procedures, and provide discharge teaching.
- You will be responsible for providing care that conforms to accepted practice standards, providing treatments/procedures and other care as prescribed, and demonstrating respect for patient rights.
- You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse who oversees all clinical experiences, documentation, and procedures in the clinical environment.
- You will be expected to participate in managing clinical situations, including identifying emergency situations and independently initiating advanced therapy.
