Job Summary
Assesses, transports and administers basic and EMT-Advanced level treatment to ill and injured persons in accordance with department, system and South Carolina DHEC policies, procedures and standards.

Verifies operational readiness of vehicles and equipment
Maintains cleanliness of MCAS vehicles
Responds to calls received from the Communications Center
Operates MCAS vehicles in a safe, courteous and efficient manner
Assesses, monitors, transports and provides necessary medical treatment
Prepares written documentation in a complete, timely and accurate manner
Attends staff meetings, complies with employee health requirements and completes mandatory employee training programs
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory / Management Responsibilities
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Education - High School diploma or equivalent OR post-high school diploma / highest degree earned. Completion of approved EMTA training program
Experience - No previous experience. Pre-hospital care experience preferred
In Lieu Of
In lieu of a SC Drivers License, a valid driver's license, from a state other than South Carolina, may be accepted if primary residence is not SC. The required active South Carolina AND National Registry EMS certification meets the educational requirements for this role.
Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
SC EMTA - SC Emergency Medical Technician - Advanced
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR / BLS)
SCDL - SC Driver's License : Valid driver's license and an acceptable five-year motor vehicle record as defined by the Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Chart
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic computer skills
Knowledge of office equipment
Working knowledge of patient care equipment
Ability to demonstrates skill proficiency on an annual basis
Ability to maintain professional certifications and attends in-service training programs
