Job Summary
Manages and coordinates the day-to-day responsibilities of therapy staff operations and daily functions for PT / OT / SLP staff. Works in the coordination of compliance protocols and budget development / management. Coordinates the department / staff development and process improvement. Supervises and evaluates staff performance. Serves as a consultant, sharing knowledge and offering assistance and support to the lead therapists and staff as indicated.

Evaluates staff performance and makes recommendations for personnel action plans / objectives
Performs ongoing competency assessment
Coordinates / plans monthly professional staff meetings
Assists the director in providing staff coaching and training for individual / team professional growth and development
Maintains documentation materials related to staff development
Oversees the hiring / termination of staff
Attends staff meetings and mandatory in-services as scheduled
Completes mandatory hospital training annually and in a timely manner
Completes TB test procedures by the end of the employee's birth month
Completes assignments in a timely and thorough manner
Coordinates coverage, PTO and mandatory tasks for staff
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety, environmental and infection control standards
Takes a lead role in the re-evaluation of current programs and processes and provides feedback and monitoring as indicated
Takes a facilitating role in the development of new programs and procedures to ensure departmental effectiveness
Coordinates and assists in the planning and implementation of educational opportunities for staff education
Assists the director in project assignments and tasks as directed
Assumes responsibilities of the director for PT, OT, RT and Speech Therapy as indicated or assigned
Develops and revises orientation material for new employees as indicated
Coordinates with the lead therapists regarding new staff competencies
Provides general PT department orientation to new employee
Communicates and coordinates day to day responsibilities of staff operations and daily functions
Demonstrates sound judgement in delegating / assigning tasks to lead therapists, physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, technical assistants and clerical staff
Provides feedback on staff performance in a professional, tactful, beneficial and timely manner
Provides direction, guidance, counselling, supervision and disciplinary action to staff when indicated
Participates in development of annual budget physical therapy
Assists the director in management of department budget
Assists the director in corrective action plans for staff when productivity falls below target range
Serves as the Departmental Compliance Manager for auditing and reporting
Participates in the on-going readiness for CARF and JCAHO
Provides support, direction and assists with implementation of clinical / department process improvement
Serves as a consultant in areas of expertise in regard to patient care
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of diagnoses / conditions seen in physical therapy
May assist in staffing if occasional need arises
Serves on committees as requested
Conducts training workshops and / or provides presentations to internal / external groups / organizations as requested
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory / Management Responsibilities
Job has direct and / or indirect supervision of employees that may include final budget authority, hire / termination authority, performance appraisal responsibility, and disciplinary authority. Job will be considered a member of management staff at GHS and will have direct reports.
Minimum Requirements
Education - Master's degree in ST, PT, or OT
Experience - Five (5) years of clinical experience. Two (2) years lead or supervisory experience
In Lieu Of
Team members employed in this job prior to July 1, 2020, are grandfathered under prior educational and experience requirements. In addition, team members must be certification eligible and will have one year to obtain required certification(s).

SC PT, OT or Speech Therapy Licensure (Lawson Code L010)
