Job Summary
This role involves the independent operation of MRI equipment, achieving high-quality images, and maintaining optimal patient care while working with patients of all ages. It also requires screening all patients and staff entering zone 3 and 4 to ensure magnet safety.
Key Responsibilities

- Performs procedures proficiently, striving for high quality, including proper positioning, choosing appropriate coils, and thorough knowledge of scanning protocols. Imaging studies must be completed in a timely manner, charged appropriately, and taken to the radiologist for interpretation as soon as possible after completion.
- Identifies patients using two identifiers, communicates with patients and medical staff regarding MR safety questionnaire and clinical history, and obtains completed questionnaires to ensure magnet safety. Also informs patients and families of delays.
- Prepares scan rooms using approved cleaning protocols, discards sharps properly, and maintains adequate supplies and linen in rooms.
- Administers contrast materials associated with MRI procedures within scope of practice as prescribed by a physician or in approved Radiology protocol.
- Implements emergency procedures as needed.
- Performs department and hospital computer functions, enters and records data accurately and promptly.
- Exhibits competency in performing quality control tasks to ensure standards are met.
- Stays up-to-date on organizational, affiliate, and departmental changes by checking email on each shift.
- Provides clinical instruction to staff technologists and students, prepares staff schedules, and coordinates daily workflow.
Requirements
- ARRT registration in Radiology & MRI, OR ARRT registration in MRI, OR ARMRIT certification
- BLS certification
Work Environment
Evening shifts at Oconee Medical Campus.
