Job Summary
Provides direct care as assigned. Performs electrocardiograms as assigned. May require access to storage areas where medications are kept and carry out procedures that require the use of non-prescription medications.Essential Functions

Performs responsibilities accurately, timely, and safely for assigned patients/area.
Communicates and informs appropriate personnel, patients and family members of pertinent information in a timely manner.
Maintains accurate paper and electronic documentation.
Utilizes equipment and supplies safely and appropriately; orders supplies as needed; labels specimens correctly.
Performs basic nursing care, simple and complex procedures, multiple treatments, waived testing and transports assigned patients.
Performs EKGs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
This is a non-management job that report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Education - High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred. Successful completion of tech training course as evidenced by Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) exam or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) course or nursing fundamentals from accredited organization required. Successful completion of an EKG course for portable EKG preferred. Medical Assistant Training acceptable.
Experience - One (1) year nurse tech hospital experience or skilled nursing facility is required if the candidate does not meet all of the educational requirements.
In Lieu Of
In lieu of school verification of a nursing assistant training course, will accept current or former South Carolina CN A certification as proof of completed state required training at time of hire.
In lieu of school verification of a medical assistant training course, will accept current or former CMA certification as proof of completed required training at time of hire.
Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
Candidates must successfully complete PH EKG course and training within 90 days of hire
CPR/BLS certification
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient computer skills
Patient care skills
Previous CNA/CMA experience preferred
Previous NT experience preferred
6 months EKG experience preferred
