Job Summary
Plans, designs, coordinates, and implements internal and external marketing for volunteer recruitment and PR. Coordinates and implements on-boarding process and follows job satisfaction and performance of volunteers through volunteer-staff relations, education of volunteers and staff regarding volunteer functions. Focuses on retention measures such as standards and quality improvement and departmental events.Essential Functions

Promotes department to nursing unit personnel and others.
Recruits qualified volunteers to assure continual growth in numbers of competent volunteers and coordinates the entry process of new volunteers.
Coordinates the placement and unit orientation of volunteers. Coordinates retention measures, including recognition events.
Serves as liaison between department and volunteer assignment sites and as trouble-shooter for issues of volunteer job satisfaction.
Presents segments of the training course and coordinates and markets continuing education and training events for volunteers.
Manages and maintains departmental records: volunteer files, staff meeting minutes and department archives.
Ensures that hospital publications and promotional include the feature current information of the volunteer program. Writes, designs, and updates promotional materials for the program and edits those prepared by others.
Coordinates planning, preparation and implementation of recruitment and promotional events. Coordinates speaking engagements to potential volunteer recruitment markets.
Works an occasional Saturday to assist with volunteer training requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Education - Associate degree in a related field of study
Experience - Two (2) years volunteer administration, marketing, public relations or related field. Prior experience working with volunteers or volunteer environment preferred.
In Lieu Of
High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of experience may be considered.

Ability to communicate effectively with volunteers regarding volunteer position requirements and time commitment.
Ability to participates in continuing education programs and professional development.
