We are seeking highly skilled Multilingual On-Site Interpreters to support our State client with on-site interpretation assignments. As an interpreter at Prisma International, you will be working closely with government representatives and non-English speakers, providing accurate and nuanced interpretation services.
About the Role
- Provide consecutive or simultaneous on-site interpretation between a government representative and non-English speakers
- Possess polite forms of expression, enunciation, and high-level customer service skills
- Deliver correct concepts and meanings between speaker and Limited English Proficient (LEP) speaker
- Ensure correct grammar, clarity, and tones between two languages
- Experience with following speakers' direction, professionally interjecting when clarification is needed, and managing conversation flow
- Refrain from side conversations with LEP and entering into disagreements with customer or LEP
Minimum Requirements
- At least one year of on-site consecutive or simultaneous interpreting experience
- Two professional references that can vouch for work as an on-site consecutive or simultaneous interpreter
- Minimum age: 18 years old
- Minimum education: High School Diploma
- Must reside within the state of Wisconsin
- Full fluency in English and target language
- Ability to provide at least one of the following accreditations: American Translation Association (ATA) or trained/accredited through higher education institution
