What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Control Specialist (Monday to Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm) position at Prismatik?
Essential Functions:
- Monitors inventory levels and places orders to replenish inventory to prevent stock shortages and/or excess.
- Performs inventory cycle count to ensure physical inventory counts match inventory records.
- Coordinates the receipt, storage, and distribution of inventory.
- Rotates inventory according to the first-in first-out (FIFO) method.
- Ensures availability of storage space for inventory. Creates an efficient space utilization plan.
- Disposes of inventory according to established policies and procedures.
- Identifies root cause of and takes corrective action to resolve inventory issues, such as discrepancies in inventory and/or stock levels.
- Notifies management of shortages or other issues that could impact inventory availability.
- Inspects shipments of new stock, checking that orders have been filled correctly and performs quality control to assess for quality issues or defects. Addresses inaccuracies in stock or quality in a timely manner to prevent production delays.
- Collaborates with appropriate teams to validate and approve parts for use in production.
- Maintains detailed documentation of quality control processes and findings.
- Works closely with the production team to meet production targets and deadlines, ensuring smooth operation and problem resolution.
- Assist in the set up and organization of production areas for new products.
- Ensures production parts and materials are updated to the latest revisions and specifications.
- Provides technical support and perform repairs support production flow and remanufacturing efforts.
- Identifies and suggests process improvement opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Implements process enhancements per management direction.
- Manages inventory according to just-in-time (JIT) strategy to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Utilizes technical knowledge to understand and manage inventory.
- Stays up to date on industry trends and advancements in inventory practices.
- Provides guidance and support to team members, including training and onboarding of new hires.
- Follows established safety regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at the direction of management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field, preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a related field.
- Experience with inventory management systems, such as D365, SAP, or Oracle.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), preferred.
- Ability to frequently lift or carry up to forty (40) pounds independently and up to one-hundred and fifty (150) pounds with assistance of additional personnel and/or use of equipment.
Pay range: $17.00 to $25.00/hr
