We are seeking a Union Benefits Analyst to join our team. The Union Benefits Analyst is responsible for managing and administering multistate union benefits processes, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements, and maintaining accurate benefit records. This role requires a strong understanding of union benefit structures, payroll deductions, and compliance requirements. This is a hybrid role traveling to our office located in Bridgewater, New Jersey 3-4 days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of union collective bargaining agreements
- Address and resolve benefit-related issues with unions, vendors, and employees
- Reconcile monthly accruals versus payments and research any discrepancies
- Conduct regular benefit reconciliations to ensure proper deductions and contributions
- Communicate with Accounting, local HR, Payroll, and Operations to resolve issues with the processing of union payments
- Administer and manage union benefit programs, including health, retirement, pension, and other negotiated benefits
- Coordinate with payroll and HR teams to verify correct benefit enrollments and deductions
- Interpret and communicate benefit-related provisions of CBAs to HR, payroll, and employees
- Prepare reports and documentation related to union benefits for audits, reconciliations, and management review
- Serve as a point of contact for union representatives and employees regarding benefits inquiries
- Assist in the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for union benefits administration
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in benefit management
- Support payroll and HR teams with union-related benefit audits and compliance checks
- Maintain accurate records of union benefit enrollments and transactions
Required Skills/Abilities:
- 3 years of experience in union benefits administration, payroll, or HR operations
- Strong understanding of collective bargaining agreements and benefit compliance
- Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems (UKG experience a plus)
- Strong MS Excel skills required (VLOOKUPS and PIVOTS)
- Good communication skills and able to work with different management levels
- Ability to work within deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Must be detail oriented and have strong analysis and communications skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Education and Experience:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Proficiency in UKG (Payroll Software) a plus
