Exciting opportunity available in the Andover/Tewksbury area to engage with a small team of direct care specialists and a team supervisor to support an active young man with autism to succeed in an integrated, community-based program. A modern local apartment with many amenities is the base of this work opportunity. You will have the opportunity to provide 1:1 direct support while engaging in a wide variety of scheduled paid/volunteer jobs, recreation, leisure and daily living activities. The promotion of independence is the primary focus. The program is designed, scheduled and overseen by this young man’s family, along with the Shared Living Collaborative as the Agency With Choice. Key characteristics for success in this self-direction program are a combination of experience working with individuals with disabilities, strong communication skills, ability to multi-task, positive, patient attitude and energetic approach to job expectations. Experience working with a picture-based communication system is a plus. Applicants must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license as they will be expected to provide transportation on shift. Candidates with certifications in place for CPR/First Aid/AED and Medication Administration (MAP) may be given priority but trainings will be provided for right candidate

Day shifts: Wednesdays 8:00am-5:00pm, Fridays 8:00am-3:00pm

Overnight Shifts (Asleep): Mondays 5pm-Tuesday 8:00am; Wednesdays 5:00pm-Thurs.8;00am

Weekend Shifts: Possibly a Friday 7:00pm-Sat at 4:00pm once a month

Fingerprint-based Criminal Background Check required
