Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nanny/Housekeeper to provide personalized care to our two small children ages 2 and 4 in our home. Our 4 year old is disabled and we will have nursing care to help as well, though this candidate would supervise and care for both children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nanny care, and will be comfortable with light cleaning and managing laundry. The candidate must have experience in proper laundry care. This role requires a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of care while collaborating with parents, nurses and therapists.
Nanny Responsibilities
- Looking after the children's needs, welfare, development, health and safety
- Supervision of the children at all times, aside from when the mother supervises
- Changing diapers, cleaning bottles
- Supporting all aspects of development through playtime
- Feedings and preparing for nap times
- Organizing the child's closets and toys
Housekeeping
- Vacuum, dusting, cleaning surfaces
- Doing the dishes (mostly dishwasher)
- Taking the trash out
- Managing laundry and ironing
- Ensuring all rooms are neat/organized, making beds
- Some cooking or arranging the meals
Skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and under the supervision of the mother
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere, collaborating with nurses and therapists as needed
- Comfortable spending most of the time at home (indoors and in the backyard on the swing set, or in the salt water pool in the Summer)
- Compassionate communication skills for interacting with both children
- Interest in pediatric disability
