We are seeking an experienced and professional Private In-Home Chef to provide high-quality, customized meals for a family in a private residence. The ideal candidate must have a passion for cooking, a creative approach to healthy meals, and the ability to cater to dietary preferences, including vegetarian and vegan cuisine.
Schedule & Expectations:
- Work Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 12 PM. (7 AM – 11 AM also an option)
- Prepare three fresh meals daily within that time frame.
- We will provide all groceries based on the chef’s ingredient requests.
- Meals will be prepared in appropriate portions—no large batches.
- Must be open-minded and flexible in executing family recipes and cooking techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare fresh, nutritious, and flavorful meals tailored to the family’s dietary needs, with a MAJOR focus on healthy cooking.
- Specialize in Indian cuisine and Asian cuisines such as Thai and Japanese.
- Prepare vegetarian and vegan meals, with minimal use of meat.
- Execute family recipes as provided and follow recipes from various cookbooks.
- Create unique plant-based dishes such as beet burgers and salmon lox made from carrots.
- Cook with an open mind, incorporating new techniques and ingredients as needed.
- Prepare toddler-friendly meals that are both nutritious and delicious.
- Source and use high-quality, organic, and fresh ingredients.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen.
- Occasionally shop for groceries, staying within budget and sourcing the best ingredients.
- Occasionally cook for guests or small gatherings as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Private Chef, Personal Chef, or in a fine dining restaurant.
- Expertise in Indian cuisine, Thai, and Japanese cooking.
- Strong understanding of vegan and vegetarian meal preparation.
- Ability to execute family recipes and follow recipes from various books.
- Knowledge of healthy cooking techniques and nutrient-dense meals.
- Creative and adaptable with flavors and ingredients.
- Experience in preparing meals for a toddler.
- Professional, discreet, and respectful of household privacy.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for grocery shopping.
