About the Role
The Hard Goods Designer is responsible for creating innovative products inspired by the company's rich heritage, brand codes, and contemporary aesthetic. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Creative/Design, this role involves conducting historical research, developing, designing, and presenting projects that meet the needs of the business while maintaining the integrity of the brand.
The designer will collaborate with Product Development to ensure the design intent is fully understood and executed in the final product.
Responsibilities
- Must be willing to commute to Edison, NJ (Hybrid)
- Conduct historical research to inspire and guide product design.
- Develop and execute hard goods designs that reflect a contemporary aesthetic while honoring the company’s history.
- Collaborate with the soft goods design team to interpret and translate main collection ideas into tangible hard goods products.
- Partner with Product Development to monitor the technical development of designs and ensure proper execution.
- Work closely with global manufacturing partners to bring designs to life.
- Maintain design integrity, high-quality execution, and timeliness throughout the entire process, from concept to production.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in product design, industrial design, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of hard goods design experience within the luxury industry.
- Strong knowledge of product design, manufacturing techniques, and materials.
- Proficiency in freehand/digital drawing, rendering techniques, and related design software.
- Passion for interior design and décor, coupled with creativity and trend awareness.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced environment and changing priorities.
- Strong work ethic, curiosity, and willingness to collaborate in a team-oriented setting.
- Well-established relationships with reliable global manufacturing partners.
- Ability to travel independently as required.
