What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Development Associate, Hard Goods and Fragrances position at Private Label Staff?
Position Overview
The Product Development Associate will report to the Creative Director and will assist in all aspects of the product development process, from concept creation to market introduction and retail shelf placement.
Essential Job Functions
- Develop and maintain a product development timeline to track progress and ensure deadlines are met.
- Create and manage product specifications and standards for new product introductions.
- Oversee the process of product packaging and labeling.
- Inspect incoming shipments at the warehouse as needed and address quality control issues with suppliers.
- Review RMAs with the Customer Service Department and coordinate resolutions.
- Communicate daily with manufacturing partners and packaging suppliers.
- Maintain and develop collection color/swatch cards and sales tools as needed.
- Establish and track costing for new collections.
- Manage product testing with external laboratories when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 5 years of experience in product development; experience with luxury home products is a plus.
- Knowledge of manufacturing materials in the decorative home accessories industry, especially home fragrance.
- Strong color sense and ability to distinguish and coordinate colors effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Highly organized with strong follow-up and multitasking skills.
- Detail-oriented and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
