R&D Chef – Michelin Level
Rare opportunity for a talented, detail-oriented R&D chef to join a small independent acclaimed group and collaborate closely with leadership. Potential R&D candidates should have an exceptional understanding of technique with a high-caliber background in James Beard recognized and Michelin-starred restaurants and approach innovation with deliberate methodology and precision.
Past experience in a two or three star Michelin kitchen is required.
R&D Chef Responsibilities :
Collaborate closely with leadership on recipe development
Apply proper technique to execute ideas with consistency, precision and scaling in mind
Write recipes consistent with established company systems, abilities and standards
Work within budgeted food cost and pricing models
Organize and record processes for methodical analysis
Support a positive, empowered work environment consistent with company values
R&D Chef Requirements :
6 years of experience in respected and acclaimed chef-driven restaurants as a Sous Chef, Chef de Partie, Commis or other roles
At least one year experience in a 2 or 3 star Michelin restaurant, ideally 2 years experience
Experience developing and ideating recipes
Passion for innovation and staying knowledgeable of current industry trends
Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and analytical skills
Flexible Schedule including nights, weekends, holidays
