Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented medical triage professional to join our small internal medicine practice. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care . The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient triage skills, medication and have study prior authorization skills. The ability to work effectively in fast paced clinical team environment is required. We are looking for a committed individual available Monday through Friday 8am to 430 pm.
Duties
- Support the clinic's daily operations by appropriately triaging and scheduling patient appointments.
- Act as a back up to our MA's rooming patients throughout the day.
- Schedule and educate patient on home sleep study equipment.
- Conduct EKG, medication and vaccine administration, and CLIA waived testing as needed.
- Process medication and advance study prior authorizations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, particularly in geriatric and post acute settings.
- Process standing order and refill requests according to practice policy.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications
- Certified or registered medical assistant or licensed practical nurse preferred.
- In lieu of certification, registration or licensing, a minimum of 3 years experience in an internal medicine practice with triage responsibilities is required.
- A strong understanding of internal medicine is essential.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service.
- Experience working with geriatric patients is advantageous.
