Position Overview:
This role is perfect for someone who loves working with people and has a great personality. We are searching for an individual with a positive, friendly, and compassionate personality who has a strong work ethic and enjoys working in a team setting. Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
· Assisting our doctors by obtaining a detailed case history from patients.
· Collecting and entering data from preliminary testing into our EHR system to support accurate diagnoses.
· Working with our doctors to coordinate eye care for our patients.
· Establishing a rapport with our patients and recommending high quality options for products and services that may meet their visual and eye health needs.
· Educating patients on specialty services that our practice provides to our patients (i.e. myopia management, specialty contact lenses, dry eye procedures). Clearly outlining the proposed procedures, their benefits, and associated costs to patients.
· Obtaining patient consent and coordinating appointments for our specialty services to provide treatments and procedures.
· Train new contact lens wearers with insertion and removal of lenses.
· Understanding and explaining vision plan benefits and its contribution to frames, lens materials, lens enhancements, and/or contact lenses.
· Providing exemplary customer/patient service, answering phone calls, and scheduling patients.
What We're Looking For:
· A genuine interest in optometry and eye care.
· A candidate with exemplary customer service skills and strong communication skills.
· A minimum of 1 year experience in an optometric or ophthalmologic practice is strongly preferred.
· A candidate willing to be cross-trained and help their fellow co-workers as needed.
· Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
· The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
· Previous experience in an optometric or retail eyewear setting is strongly preferred.
· Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent is mandatory. Associate or Bachelor Degree is preferred.
