Responsibilities
- Greet patients upon arrival and check them in for their appointments.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of time slots.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update care plans as necessary.
- Handle medical collections and process payments in accordance with clinic policies.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their health information and appointment details.
- Assist in the preparation of medical coding for billing purposes.
- Ensure compliance with all health information management regulations.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information regarding services offered at the clinic.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and dental terminology is highly desirable.
- Epic experience required
- Knowledge of medical coding practices is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
