What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional and Manager for young autistic lady position at Private Residence?
Days: Monday - Friday either 8am to 2pm or 8:30am to 2:30pm.
This job is to give support in way of ADLs to a young lady in her home plus keep her organized and active. She is 20 years old but cognitively much younger.
Looking for someone that is seriously wanting this job and long term. We will invest in the right person!
Calling out to Special needs teachers, assistants and nurses, CNAs, Autism Specialists and dementia care.
Looking for that person that has:
- has a strong work ethic
- has high motivation
- can actively listen with empathy * respectfully communicate
- is organized/detail oriented
- is a team player
- has a calm and composed personality
- must be able to walk long periods (a block or two)
- must like dogs since this young lady has a Golden Doodle therapy dog.
Your day would be mostly hanging out at our home and helping our daughter as needed. An end of shift each day will be expected.
Sometimes there will be outings to get some walking exercise either outdoors or at a store. Once a week she goes shopping at Target. Sometimes an outing might just be a car ride in a car provided.
Training will be given to learn how avoid behaviors such as learning her trigger words and situations she doesn’t like. You will always have support in this role from her parents.
The pay is $20 to $22 an hour with performance bonuses given quarterly.
