Field Service Technician

THE ROLE IS LOCATED IN:

- SOLON, OHIO 30% OF THE TIME.

***Must have experience and be competent in machine control and interface diagnostics and repair (PLC and CNC).

Summary: Plans and coordinates activities concerned with installing equipment, investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems with equipment, and eliminating future operational or service difficulties by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Manage on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and testing tasks.
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
• Review performance reports and documentation from customers and field representatives and inspect malfunctioning or damaged products to determine the nature and scope of the problem.
• Analyzes review and inspection findings to determine the source of the problem and recommends repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
• Coordinates problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs.
• Provides on-site technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Maintains records of performance reports. Documents processes. Communicate with the technical team and share information.
• Analyzes reports of technical problems to determine trends affecting future design, production, service, and maintenance processes and recommends modifications to eliminate future problems.
• Develop service handbooks and bulletins based on field investigations, engineering changes, and overall knowledge of the product.
• Provides a communication link between the customer and the company to help ensure that effective service is provided to the customer.
• Develops and conducts training on the safe operations of the equipment and demonstrates skills to trainees, including both team members and customers.
• Completes and submits service reports, documentation, and expense report(s) promptly as requested by the Engineering Manager and/or Service Coordinator.

Travel time is approximately 60-70%.

Requirements/Job Details:

- CNC repair -Preferred

- Commercial industrial machinery repair - Required

· · Proven field service experience in industrial/manufacturing environments.

· · Ability to read and interpret various types of blueprints and schematics.

· · Strong mechanical skills

· · Must have experience and be competent in machine control and interface diagnostics and repair (PLC and CNC).

· · Manage on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and testing tasks

· · Diagnose errors technical problems, and determine proper solutions

· · Document processes

· · Communicate with the technical team and share information across the organization

· · Travel 60-70% – possible international travel on occasion

· · Valid driver’s license and have or able to obtain a U.S. Passport

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $72,500.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Experience:

• CNC Repair: 3 years (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

• Akron, OH 44301: Relocate before starting work (Required)
