The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall upkeep of campground buildings, facilities (including bathhouses, laundry rooms, lounge areas, lodging units, and storage sheds), and equipment. This role ensures that all assigned areas remain clean, orderly, and functional by implementing daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and maintenance programs as directed by the Housekeeping Manager. Housekeepers should provide excellent guest service, assisting guests and team members as needed to enhance their experience.
Key Responsibilities:General Duties:
- Arrive to work on time as scheduled.
- Maintain a professional appearance, following the prescribed KOA uniform policy (yellow shirt, name tag, khaki/black/jeans shorts or pants, tennis shoes/boots).
- Provide exceptional guest service by being attentive, responsive, and helpful. Greet guests warmly at every opportunity.
- Complete all required training courses.
Cleaning & Maintenance:
- Ensure all campground buildings, facilities, and lodging units are cleaned and well-maintained.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning programs as outlined by the Housekeeping Manager.
- Properly use and maintain all cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Restock supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, cleaning solutions, etc.) and inform the Housekeeping Manager when inventory needs replenishment.
- Report any lost and found items to the Housekeeping Manager following established procedures.
- Identify and report maintenance issues in units and facilities to the Housekeeping Manager.
- Immediately report urgent maintenance issues (such as unit repairs before guest arrivals) to the Housekeeping Manager.
- Pick up litter and trash around the campground, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
Guest Service & Safety:
- Address guest concerns, requests, or complaints promptly and professionally, reporting them to the Housekeeping Manager.
- Ensure a safe work environment by following proper cleaning and handling procedures for all chemicals and equipment.
- Adhere to all KOA safety policies and guidelines, including those related to wet/slippery conditions and handling industrial laundry equipment.
Expected Outcomes:
- Clean and well-maintained lodging units, campground buildings, and facilities.
- A professional and friendly attitude toward guests and team members.
- Prompt reporting and resolution of guest concerns and facility maintenance issues.
- Adherence to safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Long periods of standing, bending, kneeling, and walking.
- Adaptability to changing weather conditions.
- Ability to move loads weighing up to 100 pounds in carts or slings and lift objects up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stoop, crawl, and crouch under equipment during cleaning tasks.
- Tolerance for exposure to heat, humidity, and noise.
Job Qualifications:
- Ability to operate a golf cart safely.
- Awareness of safety protocols when working in wet/slippery conditions.
- Basic knowledge of chemical properties, handling, and usage.
- Competence in replenishing supplies and maintaining lodging unit inventory.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cleaning procedures.
- Ability to operate industrial laundry equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
