Position Summary : PRL Industries is seeking a skilled Second Shift Upgrade and Manual Machining Supervisor to lead operations in both the upgrade department and the manual machining area in Cornwall, PA. This role requires a strong leader who can oversee production, ensure quality, and drive continuous improvement through 6S practices. Key Responsibilities : Supervision & Leadership : - Oversee and manage upgrade department operations and manual machining activities at CMS during the second shift. - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technicians and machinists, promoting a culture of safety, efficiency, and teamwork. - Monitor performance, conduct evaluations, and implement corrective actions to meet production goals. Operations Management : - Coordinate upgrade and manual machining operations, ensuring production schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements are met. - Work closely with other shift supervisors to ensure seamless operations across shifts. - Address and resolve operational challenges promptly. Safety & Compliance : - Enforce all safety regulations and promote a safe working environment in both the upgrade and manual machining areas. - Conduct safety audits and ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards. 6S & Continuous Improvement : - Implement and sustain 6S practices across both the upgrade department and the CMS manual machining area. - Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency. Reporting & Communication : - Prepare shift reports covering both upgrade and manual machining operations, including production metrics, safety incidents, and quality issues. - Communicate effectively with team members, peers, and upper management to ensure alignment on objectives and operational status. Qualifications : - Proven experience in a supervisory role within manufacturing, specifically in upgrade processes and manual machining. - Strong leadership and team development skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and 6S. - Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage multiple operational areas simultaneously. - Strong communication skills and attention to detail. - Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in both upgrade and machining environments. Education : - High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
