What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training Supervisor position at PRN Ambulance?
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Training and QA/QI, this position plans, directs, and coordinates the training and development activities of field staff. It is open to fully licensed EMT’s or higher, who have demonstrated understanding of their job duties, the ability to perform them and have exhibited FTO competencies. This position is full time, requires work at the stations and on an ambulance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for complete and accurate paperwork
- Responsible for instructing courses at all stations, completing all associated documentation and forwarding the documentation to the Director of Training
- Attends Training Department conference calls
- Attends company training meetings
- Trains new FTOs in the field for their train-the-trainer and ensures new FTOs understand the roles and responsibilities of an FTO
- Oversees FTOs and ensures all required paperwork is completed and the training is electronically logged for each trainee
- Updates FTO’s on new policies, procedures and training material
- Responsible for maintaining testing and due date compliance for employees and upholding competency requirements
- Responsible for reporting to the Director of Training regarding training issues, safety issues, and needs
- Responsible for identifying employees in need of additional training
- Provide excellent patient care
- Communicates proficiently and effectively with co-workers, management, hospital staff and others
- Provides patient care under stressful and non-stressful situations
- Responsible for cleaning and operating ambulance equipment
- Responsible for hands on training of new hires with the addition of the above-mentioned responsibilities
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements :
- High School or general education degree (GED) required
- Prior training experience as an FTO
- Must portray a positive company image and attitude to all personnel
- Must have excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Must be willing to participate in ongoing training and career development
- Must be current in state and federally mandated supervisory training
- Must have proficient computer skills (i.e. Excel, Word, etc.)
- Must be in good standing with the company
- Must maintain current industry standards through continuing education
- Must maintain current licensure or certifications in the following:
- EMT/Paramedic
- 40 hours of teaching methodology (NAEMSE) - must be completed within 90 days of hire
- CPR
- California Driver’s License
- Ambulance Drivers License
- Medical Certification (DL-51)
- LADOT
- And any other applicable federal, state or county license
Physical Requirements :
- Must be able to perform the following tasks:
- Walk - frequently, up to 10 hours per day.
- Run - infrequently, 1-2 minutes per day.
- Stand - frequently, up to 10 hours per day.
- Sit - frequently, up to 8 hours per day.
- Kneel - frequently, 10-15 times per day.
- Bend - frequently, 10-15 times per day.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, carry 250 Lbs. infrequently (1-3 times per shift)
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, carry 150 Lbs. frequently (5-10 times per shift)
- Must have ability to step up and/ or climb over obstacles
- Must be able to climb stairs while carrying up to 150 Lbs.
- Must have adequate hearing acuity to perform job tasks (as delineated in California DMV DL51 medical examination requirements)
- Must have adequate vision (with corrective lenses if needed) to clearly distinguish colors, shapes, distances, etc. (as delineated in California DMV DL51 medical examination requirements)
- Must have adequate hand and finger dexterity to grip and hold both large and small items
- Must have adequate hand and arm strength to grip and lift heavy objects
- Must be able to tolerate work in an outdoor environment (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
Salary : $46,300 - $58,600
