Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Nurse to provide high-quality care to patients and their families. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and a deep understanding of the unique needs of hospice patients. This role involves working closely with an interdisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care that addresses their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Perform assessments to evaluate patient conditions, including pain management and symptom control.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding end-of-life care options and resources.
- Assist with basic life support measures when necessary and manage airway issues as they arise.
- Monitor vital signs and document changes in patient conditions accurately in medical records.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols while providing care for patients with infectious diseases.
- Participate in ongoing training related to hospice care practices
Required Skills & Experience:
- A minimum of one (1) year experience as an RN, either in acute care hospital, oncology, long-term care, hospice or home health. School internships and clinical hours may be considered as experience in individual cases.
