The Laser/Punch/Waterjet Operator will lead our Machine Operators by coordinating daily production schedules to produce high quality parts to print within established production standards, and assisting with development and maintenance of policies, processes, and activities in a continuous improvement environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Must be reliable, cooperative, with high attention to detail, and work well independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities at one time.
- Ability to listen effectively and communicate clearly to maintain positive relationships.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret bills of materials and routings.
- Able to set up machine by selecting proper program and tooling, make adjustments to programming as needed.
- Assist employees with positioning material in machine and perform operation to achieve desired result.
- Assist employees with finish grinding, sanding, or other finishing operation when needed.
- Provide work direction, assign tasks, and monitor work progress and employee performance.
- Examine and inspect finished parts with a variety of precision and inspection measuring instruments, recognize non-conforming parts.
- Analyze data, determine root cause, develop implementation plans and resolve issues affecting quality and throughput.
- Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, quality of product, and increase efficiency of department.
- Coordinate routine department maintenance activities, assist with trouble shooting.
- Monitors work assignments and communicates any concerns with lead.
- Maintain inventory of supplies for Machine Operators.
- Provide employee training, coaching, disciplinary action, and performance reviews.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Manufacturing experience of 2-5 years, prior lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Technical training related to CNC machine operation a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- The employee is regularly required to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Lift up to 50 pounds; Occasionally maneuver through lifting, pushing or pulling greater than 50 pounds.
- Regular reaching overhead and at or below shoulder level, with gross and fine manipulation with hands and fingers.
- Specific vision abilities include near, far, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
