Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Pro Fabrication, Inc. This role is responsible for the development, implementation and management of the total maintenance of the facility. The successful candidate will have the ability to perform root-cause analysis and analytical problem solving on a variety of CNC machines including laser cutting, punch pressing, waterjet, and forming equipment.
The role also includes the facility maintenance including HVAC, production paint room, and building maintenance. Industrial maintenance experience and certificates in related fields is a plus.is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment. As a Maintenance Technician, you will contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality products by maintaining our machinery and work environment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and find the root cause and repair problems on a large variety of equipment including CNC machines.
- Apply extensive knowledge of CNC machines.
- Read and interpret electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and machine schematic diagrams, drawings and specifications.
- Experience with convection ovens, IR ovens, burners, and related controls.
- Repair industrial building equipment, compressed air systems, and HVAC equipment.
- Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain plumbing, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric systems.
- Fabricate using drill press, mill, lathe, basic hand tools, and welding.
- Perform and maintain records for regular hoist inspections and related rigging equipment.
- Perform and complete all associated paperwork for regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and facilities.
- Requisition materials to accomplish repairs and maintenance as required.
- Collaborate with outside vendor service technicians, engineers, electricians and millwrights in the repair and installation of new/existing equipment/systems.
- Responsible for following safety rules, producing quality workmanship, and for good housekeeping in work area and areas where maintenance/repair and installations are performed.
- Complete all associated paperwork and recordkeeping as required.
- Maintain up-to-date records for all local, state, federal, and insurance inspections.
- Responsible for hazardous waste disposal programs.
- Maintain all forklift equipment, including basic preventative maintenance and routing repairs.
- Maintain and manage parts inventory and supplies.
Requirements
- Reliable, cooperative, with high attention to detail, and work well independently and as part of a team.
- Must possess the following skills: carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical, plant layout, painting, and janitorial.
- Trade school certificate and/or a degree in a mechanical or electrical-related field with emphasis on CNC Machines preferred; or 3-5 years’ work experience or combination of trade school and work experience repairing and maintaining the electronics of CNC controls in lieu of degree is desired.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
- Ability to use the following measuring equipment: multimeter, manometer, tape measure, caliper, micrometer.
- Work independently with minimal supervision or collaboratively with other maintenance technicians.
- Possess mechanical and deductive reasoning skills.
- Demonstrate integrity and respect, dependability, honesty and accountability.
- The position requires overtime work as needed including being on call for off shifts.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and stooping.
- Regular reaching overhead and at or below shoulder level, with gross and fine manipulation with hands and fingers.
- Frequent lift, move, push, and pull up to 75 pounds (with or without assist).
- Noise level is moderate.
- Frequent exposure to fumes, solvents, grease/oil, noise.
- Operate in various areas of the plant and outside, facing diverse environmental conditions which can be hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, and noisy, depending on the area.
- Ability to work at heights and/or in tight spaces with limited room for movement.
- Specific vision abilities include near, far, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
