Painters, drywallers, and finishers work on a variety of surfaces, including drywall, wood, masonry, and plaster, to apply materials like paint, wall coverings, and other finishes.
Responsibilities:
Drywaller -
- Install drywall panels to a building's framework
- measure and cut panels to fit specific spaces, and fasten them to wood or metal studs
- They may also patch and trim rough spots, apply tape and sealing compound to joints
- sand for a smooth finish
- Drywallers may also prepare drywall for painting by taping and finishing joints and imperfections
Painters -
- Apply paint to surfaces using brushes, rollers, or sprayers, and may also apply texture to walls and ceilings.
- They may also prepare and clean job sites
- remove old paint
- mix colors to achieve the desired look
Finishers -
- May sand, patch, and repair drywall and plaster
- May work on high ceilings using scaffolding or stilts
- They may also prepare surfaces for materials like waterproofing, fireproofing, varnish, and shellac
Qualifications:
- Previous experience with Painting, Drywall or Finishing in a Residential or Commercial environment
- The ability to stand and move for long periods of time
- The ability to lift 50 pound plus continuously for hours in a day
- Need to be comfortable working on ladders and scaffolding
- Valid Drivers license is required
