Group: Utility InfrastructureThis role involves the direction and development of utility infrastructure (UI) projects and management of a team of 5-10 staff members. Key responsibilities include workflow and staff management, staff development, technical leadership, project management, quality assurance, and client management.

Develop monthly financial and staffing forecasts with a three-month look-ahead

Maintain and update master team project lists
-
Monitor monthly team billings, profitability, and staff utilization
-
Coordinate workflow and staffing with the Group Leader and other teams
-
Identify hiring needs and assist with interviews
-
Ensure proper staff training and mentorship
-
Support staff growth and advancement within the team and company
-
Lead employee performance reviews
-
Handle personnel issues in conjunction with Group Leader, HR, and upper management
-
Maintain high team morale
-
Guide staff in developing and monitoring their career development plans
-
Enhance technical skills of engineers and project managers
-
Develop project managers in proposal preparation, fee negotiations, and project financial management
-
Train project managers to successfully manage all aspects of projects
-
Develop project managers to establish and maintain client relationships
-
Train project managers to delegate design tasks effectively
-
Establish a progressive development timetable for project managers

Monitor and support Project Manager performance
-
Oversee all aspects of utility infrastructure study and design projects, including drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater
-
Provide mentorship to less experienced staff

Solve complex technical challenges

Identify and resolve project roadblocks
-
Prepare proposals, fee negotiations, and contracts
-
Track financial progress of projects
-
Maintain project schedules and ensure timely completion
-
Contribute to company profitability

Ensure that every project undergoes thorough reviews at all stages

Leverage technical resources for quality control

Establish and maintain strong client relationships

BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering

Professional Engineer (PE) License, with reciprocity eligibility in Ohio
