Senior Application Testing Specialist

Overview

The Senior Application Testing Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our applications through comprehensive testing and quality assurance processes. This position is essential for maintaining the high standards of performance and functionality that our customers expect from our software solutions. The individual in this role will be responsible for leading the testing efforts, devising test strategies, and implementing automation solutions to streamline the testing process.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and test cases for new and existing applications
• Experience with Microsoft Technologies, including Microsoft Server 2008 and later, IIS, SQL Server, ASP, and ASP.Net.
• Agile Framework: Extensive experience working within the Agile Framework
• Conduct functional, integration, regression, and performance testing to ensure the reliability and scalability of the applications
• Lead and mentor a team of testing specialists to execute test cases and report defects
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify testing requirements and resolve quality issues
• Utilize automated testing tools and frameworks to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of testing processes
• Participate in the review and analysis of system requirements to ensure a thorough understanding of the testing scope
• Monitor and track defects to closure, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and preventive measures
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing methodologies and best practices within the organization
• Provide timely and accurate test reporting to stakeholders, highlighting key metrics and areas of concern
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in testing technologies to recommend and implement innovative solutions
• Collaborate with development teams to promote a culture of quality and proactive defect prevention
• Support the implementation and maintenance of test environments and testing infrastructure
• Conduct risk assessments and impact analysis for changes and enhancements to the applications
• Participate in release management activities and validate the readiness of applications for deployment
• Act as a subject matter expert in testing and quality assurance for internal and external stakeholders
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree is a plus
• 5 years of experience in application testing and quality assurance, preferably in a senior or lead role
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices
• Proven experience in developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts
• In-depth knowledge of automated testing tools such as Selenium, QTP, or similar
• Experience with performance testing tools like LoadRunner, JMeter, or equivalent
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C# for test automation
• Ability to analyze complex systems and troubleshoot issues to identify root causes
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage a testing team
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a strong customer focus
• Certifications in testing and quality assurance (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE) are a plus
• Solid understanding of agile and DevOps principles as they relate to testing and quality assurance
• Experience in implementing and managing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• Familiarity with cloud-based testing environments and services (e.g., AWS, Azure) is beneficial
• Proactive approach to learning and staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends
