Job Description: Lawn Care Technician

Position Overview:

The Lawn Care Technician will be responsible for providing exceptional lawn care and landscaping services, maintaining equipment, and contributing to the overall organization of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Lawn Care and Landscaping Services

• Perform mowing, weed-eating, edging, and blowing off all debris from concrete areas, including porches (unless closed off), driveways, and sidewalks.
• Install mulch, pine straw, and decorative stone to enhance landscape aesthetics.
• Conduct hedge trimming, small tree pruning, and general landscaping tasks.
• Assist with seasonal services, such as leaf cleanup and debris removal.
• Perform weed control through the safe and effective application of chemicals to kill weeds and prevent growth in lawns and garden beds.
• Ensure all work is completed efficiently and meets company quality standards.
• Be prepared to train and mentor new team members as the company grows.

Equipment and Vehicle Maintenance

• Conduct routine maintenance on mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other equipment, including oil changes, blade sharpening, and basic repairs.
• Keep trucks, trailers, and toolboxes clean and organized to ensure efficiency and professionalism on job sites.
• Identify and report any equipment or vehicle issues requiring professional repair.

Shop and Workspace Organization

• Maintain an organized and clean shop space, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly.
• Assist with preparing and loading equipment and materials for daily jobs.

Customer Service and Professionalism

• Represent the company professionally by maintaining a polite and respectful demeanor on job sites.
• Stay in uniform at all times while on the job to uphold a professional appearance.
• Be punctual, reliable, and ready to work in various weather conditions.
• Adhere to the company’s smoke-free, respectful, and growth-focused workplace policies.

Position Details:

• Position Dates: March through October, with the possibility of winter work based on demand.
• Work Week: Monday through Thursday, with Fridays being rare workdays, only utilized if weather delays occur during the week.
• Guaranteed Rehire: If laid off during the winter, we guarantee a job back in the spring if qualified.
• Sign-On Bonus: For qualified candidates willing to return next season.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Prior experience in lawn care, landscaping, or grounds maintenance is required.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for maintaining and troubleshooting small engines and landscaping equipment.
• Knowledge and experience in weed control, including spraying chemicals to kill weeds safely and effectively (certification may be required).
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and lift/move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must provide two professional references.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
