Job description
A Takeoff Engineer to join a well-established commercial grading and paving general contractor. The Takeoff Engineer will report to the Senior Estimator and will help with estimating support on multiple ground up new construction, maintenance and civil projects. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience within the civil construction industry and Agtek takeoff software with emphasis on grading and paving. This person will work in office everyday, possess superior communication skills and have the capability of working both independently and collaboratively. Most importantly, the candidate will see their insights have an immediate, tangible impact every day in a closely and firmly integrated established company. Specific to full time, In Office position and no remote positions available at this time.
SPECIFICALLY, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Utilizing Agtek Suite of Takeoff Software (Earthwork 4D, Highway 4D, Materials 4D Etc)
- Maintaining project takeoffs, quantity reports and deliverables to estimating team
- Maintaining Bid docs, Plans Soils Reports and estimating folders
- Preparation and distribution of Site Maps and Quantity Maps for field use
- Preparation and documentation of RFI’s, COR’s, etc.
- Preparation, documenting, and reviewing submittals for conformance to contract documents and specifications
- Generate and maintain project databases/logs
- Field verification and tracking of construction progress
- Assist project management with cost and quality controls
- Maintain positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing
- Solicit subcontractor pricing for ASI’s, & Change Orders.
- Contract administration for projects.
- Assist in other duties as assigned depending on the project(s).
THE QUALIFYING CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:
- Minimum 1-year related work or internship experience in construction management or related field with emphasis in civil construction
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science or a related field
- Must be proficient in Agtek, MS Office, Project, and Adobe. It is a bonus if they know Onscreen takeoff Program as well.
- Strong ability to read, understand and interpret specifications and drawings
- Ability to visualize various building techniques
