Cerakote Application Specalist and Shop Manager

ProMachine & Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Cerakote Shop Manager & Application Specialist to lead our Cerakote finishing operations. This role is responsible for managing daily shop activities, ensuring top-tier application quality, maintaining equipment, and overseeing workflow efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced in Cerakote application, and capable of managing both production and customer orders with precision and care.

Key Responsibilities:Cerakote Application & Quality Control:

• Prepare, mask, and apply Cerakote coatings to machined metal products, and other metal/polymer parts.
• Maintain strict quality control standards, ensuring uniformity, adhesion, and durability of finishes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve coating issues, including adhesion failures or surface imperfections.
• Stay up to date with the latest Cerakote techniques and innovations.

Shop Management & Operations:

• Oversee day-to-day shop operations, ensuring efficiency in production workflow.
• Maintain inventory of coatings, solvents, and materials, ensuring stock levels are optimal.
• Ensure proper maintenance of spray booths, ovens, and sandblasting equipment to avoid downtime.
• Establish and enforce safety and compliance protocols, including proper PPE usage and ventilation requirements.

Customer Service & Order Fulfillment:

• Work closely with customers to provide custom Cerakote solutions, including color selection and design options.
• Communicate lead times, pricing, and process details to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Manage incoming work orders, track progress, and coordinate timely order completion.

Team Leadership & Growth:

• Train and mentor junior applicators or shop assistants on best practices and safety procedures.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for efficiency and quality improvement.
• Work with the business leadership team to expand service offerings and increase production capacity.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience in Cerakote application, automotive coatings, or industrial finishing.
• Certification from NIC Industries (Cerakote Certified Applicator) is highly preferred.
• Experience managing a coatings shop, firearms customization business, or similar operation is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of surface preparation, curing processes, and application techniques.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with firearms and tactical gear is beneficial but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
