Material Handler/Forklift Operator

Major Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the flow of incoming and outbound products using ERP software
• Efficiently load and unload trucks ensuring that products are carefully handled and staged correctly
• Keep dock area (including inventory shelves) organized and tidy
• Ensure that product is efficiently flowing to and from the lines
• Continually keep management and teammates aware of problems and opportunities for improvement, etc.
• Assist management with problem detection, problem solving, and ways to increase productivity.
• Other duties as assigned

Key Functions Performed:

• Efficiently load and unload trucks ensuring that products are carefully handled and staged correctly
• Keep dock area (including inventory shelves) organized, tidy, and safe
• Ensure that product is efficiently flowing to and from the lines
• Ensure that part counts/skid counts are accurate and document truck layouts to ensure that all parts are accounted for
• Interact and coordinate with drivers and customer’s shipping docks to ensure efficient operations (Professional written communication)
• Ensure that all outbound products leaving the shop are properly labelled
• Verify the quality of outgoing and incoming products meets the customer quality standards and is packaged properly
• Provide training and instruction to team members, new and tenured, when needed

Employee Requirements:

• High school diploma/equivalent or relevant work experience with a desire for continuing education
• Must prioritize teamwork and helping to achieve team/business goals
• Ability to work independently to achieve desired results. Self-directed
• Must be able to focus and stay on task throughout shift
• Learn quickly and retain information effectively
• Exceptional problem solving capabilities
• Excellent listening and communication skills
• Ability to effectively interact and respond to line leaders and management
• Flexibility to work overtime when needed
• Minimum of six months prior experience working on a production line
• Experience with propane Hi-Lo/Fork trucks
• Must be able to remain standing/on feet throughout shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance if needed
• Ability to bend and twist
• Ability to repetitively lift and extend above shoulder level

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday

• Warehouse experience: 1 year (Preferred)
