What You’ll Do
As a Shop Foreman, you will lead a team of metal fabricators and polishers, ensuring that projects are completed on time, meet quality standards, and follow safety regulations. You will be responsible for assigning tasks, monitoring progress, maintaining equipment, and working closely with management to meet production goals.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate shop employees, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Train and mentor employees in polishing, cutting, finishing, and fabrication techniques.
- Ensure all projects meet quality control standards and customer specifications.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment, enforcing company safety policies.
- Monitor equipment functionality, report maintenance needs, and manage tool inventory.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to assign work accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with management and other departments regarding project deadlines, labor needs, and production goals.
- Assist with hands-on work, including polishing, cutting, and welding when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with workplace policies, including OSHA and industry safety regulations.
- Train and monitor shop welders in all facets and scenarios of our welding processes and techniques.
What You Bring
We’re seeking someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can juggle multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of metal polishing, cutting, and finishing techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools, grinders, and cutting equipment.
- Understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with stainless steel finishing.
- TIG welding experience- Foot Pedal and Pulse a BIG PLUS
- Knowledge of mills, lathes, and saw operations.
- Experience in the food processing equipment industry.
