Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Asphalt Paving Foreman to lead and supervise our paving crew. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in asphalt paving operations, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Oversee daily operations of asphalt paving projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Team Supervision: Manage and mentor a team of paving crew members, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and high-quality work.
- Quality Control: Monitor and enforce quality standards for all paving activities, ensuring compliance with company and industry specifications.
- Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections.
- Equipment Management: Ensure proper maintenance and operation of paving equipment, coordinating with maintenance teams as needed.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the project team, clients, and management, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in asphalt paving, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in construction management or related fields is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of asphalt paving techniques and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in using construction management software and basic office applications.
- Certifications: Valid driver’s license; OSHA certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions.
- Capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
