The Panel Builder must be able to work independently and as part of a team of electricians, engineers, and other technical staff while maintaining a high level of professionalism and commitment to quality production. Panel Builders wire, assemble, and do electrical design for electrical motor control systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in fabrication, electrical assembly, or automation controls.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret engineering schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to comprehend assembly requirements.
Select, measure, and cut materials such as wires, conduits, and panels based on specified dimensions.
Layout and assemble electrical components, including switches, relays, circuit breakers, and other control devices.
Wire control panels following wiring diagrams and established electrical codes to ensure functionality and safety.
Test completed panels to verify proper wiring, circuit integrity, and adherence to specifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to panel assembly, wiring, or functionality.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure compliance with design specifications and project timelines.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety guidelines and protocols.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational or technical training in electrical systems preferred.
Proven experience as a Panel Builder or similar role.
Proficiency in reading and understanding electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
Strong knowledge of electrical codes and regulations governing panel assembly and wiring.
Ability to use hand and power tools effectively and safely.
Excellent attention to detail and precision in panel assembly and wiring.
